Female XT60 connector, with mounting tabs and M3 metal thread, is the version of the XT60 connector designed for direct mounting on a drone chassis, on a power distribution board, or on any other surface, without the need for a separate cable housing. The female contacts receive the pins of a standard male XT60 connector, and the asymmetric shape of the housing enforces only one correct mating direction. It is suitable for replacing worn or damaged connectors on FPV drones, ESCs, power distribution boards (PDBs), and other assemblies where the connector must sit fixed next to other components, keeping the power wires away from propellers or moving parts.
The contacts are gold-plated for good conductivity and long-term corrosion resistance, with low contact resistance and high insulation resistance between the two terminals. The connector is rated for voltages up to 500 VDC, with a nominal current of 20 A in continuous operation and an admissible instantaneous current of 40 A, sufficient for most LiPo battery applications used in model making and FPV. The housing is made of temperature-resistant plastic, with an IP40 protection rating and a manufacturer-specified number of uses.
Among the main features are the two mounting tabs with M3 threaded metal bushings, the asymmetric D-profile housing for mechanical keying, the molded polarity marking, and the gold-plated female contacts for the two power wires. As a passive connector, it does not require its own power supply; the + and - wires are soldered directly to the two contacts depending on the polarity of the circuit in which it is installed.

Usage:
Identify the connector polarity using the + marking molded into the housing before soldering the wires.
Strip the wire ends, preferably 12, 14, or 16 AWG, and tin them before soldering for a solid joint.
Solder the positive wire to the female contact marked + and the negative wire to the other contact, checking that the solder joint is clean and free of solder bridges between the two terminals.
Fix the connector to the chassis or board with two M3 screws inserted through the mounting tabs, tightened evenly so as not to deform the housing.
Do not exceed the nominal current of 20 A in continuous operation and limit current peaks to no more than 40 A to avoid excessive heating of the contacts.
Insert the male XT60 connector only in the direction imposed by the asymmetric shape of the housing, without forcing the mating.
Periodically check the condition of the gold-plated contacts, especially after a large number of mating cycles, taking into account the service life specified by the manufacturer.
Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture or to temperatures outside the operating range, in order to keep contact resistance and insulation resistance within normal parameters.
