The IR reflective sensor module is ideal for line tracking and black and white contrast detection in robotics projects. It integrates an IR LED and a phototransistor with on-board conditioning for digital output DO, operates at 5V and connects quickly via a 3-pin header. The compact dimensions and mounting hole make it easy to mount, optimal for small distances up to 3 mm.

The QRE1113 module is an IR reflection sensor, ideal for robotics and automation projects where you need to detect lines or contrast differences between surfaces.
It integrates an infrared LED and a phototransistor, and the signal is conditioned on the board so you can quickly obtain a digital output compatible with microcontrollers.
It detects light-colored surfaces that reflect more and dark-colored surfaces that reflect less very well, making it suitable for line followers, counting objects at short distance, and edge detection.
The board has a 3-pin connector, compact dimensions, and a mounting hole for easy installation.

Connect the pins as follows:

Mount the sensor as close as possible to the surface, ideally up to 3 mm, and maintain a constant distance for stable results
For line following:
Calibrate the threshold in code by reading OUT on white and black, position the sensor perpendicular to the surface.
For object detection at short distance:
Point the sensor towards the passing area, use software debounce to avoid multiple triggers.
If the signal is unstable:
Check strong ambient lighting, shield the sensor from direct light and adjust the distance until the switching becomes consistent.
