The INA226 module, compatible with Arduino and other development boards, is a current and power monitor that includes a shunt for voltage measurement and an I2C or SMBUS compatible interface. This device monitors both the voltage drop across the shunt and the bus supply voltage. Programmable calibration value, conversion times and averaging options, combined with an internal multiplier, allow direct reading of current in amps and power in watts.
The INA226 module senses current on common bus voltages that can range from 0 V to 36 V, independent of supply voltage. The device operates from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply, consuming 330 μA of supply current typically. The device is specified for an operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C and offers up to 16 programmable addresses over the I2C-compatible interface.
