18650 battery tester, color LCD, 4 channels, charge, discharge and internal resistance

Tester module for 18650 batteries, with the function of charging and discharging batteries, which allows precise evaluation of internal resistance and capacity on four independent channels, being ideal for performance testing and separating batteries based on their characteristics.

It has 4 slots for 18650 batteries and a digital display that provides information about voltage, current, accumulated capacity and discharge/charge cycle. The module can be set to go through up to 9 charge-discharge cycles, without additional interventions.

For discharge, it uses 4 resistors located under an actively cooling fan, capable of discharging with a current of up to 1A per cell.

The module displays the internal resistance of the battery with medium accuracy, using the 2-wire measurement method. This method is not as accurate as the more efficient 4-wire method, but it gives a clear idea of the battery's health.

Each channel offers support for 18650 or the possibility to connect wires (Plus and Minus) directly to the terminal positioned at the end of the battery socket. This aspect is ideal when you want to use a different type of battery.

For charging the batteries the module offers 2 Type-C ports, each connected to 2 channels. To charge all 4 channels it is necessary to supply power via Type-C from two chargers. The charger must be a simple one with 5V output. QC and PD chargers are not recommended because the tester may not be able to negotiate the 5V voltage with the charger.

The battery discharge voltage can be set between 2.5 and 3.5VDC.

The module supports English and Chinese. Switching between languages is done by disconnecting the power, holding down the M button, powering the module and releasing the button after the screen lights up, followed by an ON/OFF cycle.

Use:

Working mode setting:

Adjust the desired mode (charging, discharging, auto).

Parameter configuration:

Choose the discharge stop voltage between 2.5V and 3.5V via the "Adjust/S" button.

Set the number of cycles in automatic mode, if necessary.

Battery charging/discharging:

Connect the power to the Type-C interface, the first two channels having the first Type-C jack, channels 3 and 4 having the second Type-C jack dedicated to charging, place the battery and press "Start/Stop" to start the test.

In charging mode, charging will automatically stop when the maximum voltage of 4.2V.

After the cycle is complete, the device displays the results regarding capacity, time and energy used.

Internal resistance measurement:

For accurate results, fully charge the battery before testing. Discharged batteries may give incorrect resistance values.
