Distance measurement assembly based on the VL53L0X laser sensor together with an intermediate board with integrated digital display, designed for short-distance measurements. The module allows distance measurement up to 50 cm, direct display of the value in centimeters on the screen, data transmission via serial interface in millimeters, automatic measurement update every one second, flexible power supply between 3.3 and 5V and easy connection via the four pins located on the bottom of the board. The solution is suitable for electronic projects, automation, robots or demonstration systems for distance measurement using the ToF (Time of Flight) method.
The VL53L0X module communicates with the intermediate board via I2C, which in turn processes the information received on I2C through an 8-bit microcontroller MS51FB9AE (8051 architecture) that handles information processing, digital display and sequential data transmission via serial (TX and RX).
