DC motor 5840-31ZY, with worm gear reducer, designed for applications that require high torque and a self-locking function. Thanks to its worm gear construction, the motor does not rotate backward when not powered, ensuring stability and safety in mechanical or robotic applications.
It offers an unloaded speed of 80 RPM, low no-load current consumption of 0.2A, and a robust 8mm metal shaft, suitable for couplings, gears, or mechanical arms. The direction of rotation is reversible by reversing the supply polarity, and the high torque makes it suitable for lifting, opening, or actuation movements.
Powering it at 24VDC reduces current draw compared to the 12V version, which is advantageous in installations where lower cable losses are desired. The motor can be controlled from an Arduino, STM32, ESP32 board, or other compatible platforms, through a motor driver (for example L298N or BTS7960), including speed adjustment via PWM.

Connect the motor’s two wires to the outputs of a motor driver.
Power the driver at 24VDC from a power supply capable of delivering at least 4.4A for current peaks.
Control the driver from an Arduino, STM32, or ESP32 board using direction and PWM signals.
Reverse the motor supply polarity to change the direction of rotation.
Use a PWM signal to adjust the speed according to the application.
