The XY-WFPOW module is a compact WiFi control board, built around the ESP8285H16 chip, designed to add wireless connectivity to Sinilink programmable power supplies and turn them into smart devices, remotely controllable over a local network or through the cloud. With a small size of only 16 x 38 mm, the module integrates directly onto the host board via a dedicated connector, without requiring any additional hardware modifications.

The ESP8285H16 chip integrates a high-performance microcontroller and a 2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g/n wireless protocol stack, with 2 MB of built-in flash memory. Communication with the host board is carried out via the 3.3V TTL UART interface, using the ModBUS bridge protocol, which allows control commands to be transmitted and monitoring data to be received in real time. The supply voltage is internally regulated to 3.3 VDC by the AMS1117-3.3V regulator, so the module can be powered directly from 3.3V or 5V from the host board, without additional external components.

In the original firmware configuration, the module provides complete control and monitoring of compatible power supplies: setting output voltage and current, turning the load on and off, monitoring consumption in real time, and generating alerts when configured parameters are exceeded. It is compatible with Sinilink XY5008, XYH3606, XY6020L, XY12522, and XYS3606 programmable power supplies.

The original firmware can be replaced with ESPHome or Tasmota, allowing direct integration into automation platforms such as Home Assistant or Node-RED, without dependence on the manufacturer’s app or servers. Flashing is done through the programming pins on the board (GND, TX, RX) using a 3.3V USB-to-serial adapter such as CP2102 or CH340, with no need for a logic level converter.

Usage:

Connect the module to the Sinilink host board using the included connection cable. Download the Sinilink app and connect your phone to the module’s WiFi network (Access Point mode on first startup). Follow the steps in the app to configure the WiFi network and control parameters. After configuration, the module automatically reconnects to the network at every startup. If the module cannot be detected, press the reset button on the board and try again.

 

Flashing with ESPHome or Tasmota:

Connect a 3.3V USB-to-serial adapter (CP2102 or CH340) to the module’s programming pins, GND to GND, TX to RX, and RX to TX. No logic level converter is required. In ESPHome, generate a YAML configuration for the ESP8285 platform and upload the compiled firmware. In Tasmota, select the "Generic (18)" module from the web configuration interface. After flashing, the module can be controlled through Home Assistant, Node-RED, or the built-in web interface.
