BME680 sensor module, compatible with development boards operating up to 3.3V, digital, which measures air quality (VOC gas), atmospheric pressure, temperature and humidity.
Thanks to the BME680 IC, it allows monitoring air quality, making a weather forecast based on temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure, but can also be used to determine altitude (based on atmospheric pressure) both indoors and outdoors, as well as to determine the rate of climb in altitude.
The gas sensor in the BME680 provides a qualitative measurement of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in ambient air. This allows you to observe trends and compare results to assess whether air quality is improving or deteriorating.
To obtain accurate measurements, it is necessary to calibrate the sensor using known sources and create a calibration curve.
Upon first use, it is recommended to let the sensor run for 48 hours before collecting actual data (Burn-in Procedure).
Afterwards, before each air quality measurement, let the sensor run for 30 minutes to obtain accurate values.
