MPPT mode for charging a battery, which can be powered by solar panels. The module includes a power transistor that does not require an external current detection resistor and blocking diode. The 8-bit internal analog-digital conversion circuit can automatically adjust the charging current depending on the capacity of the voltage source.
The CN3065 module requires few peripheral components and is compatible with USB bus specifications, which makes it suitable for portable applications.
The circuit also includes thermal protection to keep the IC in safe temperature values when the current demand of the circuit is high or the ambient temperature is high.
The CV charging voltage is 4.2VDC, adjustable through an external resistor and the charging current is also adjustable through an external resistor.
When the power source (for example, solar panels at night) is turned off, the module enters low-power sleep mode, with a battery consumption of 3mA.
The presence of LEDs integrated in the module will show the charging status of the battery and the completion of charging.
Note: When charging the battery, the priority source of power is the external source (solar panels). However, when the consumer requires more than the main source can provide, the module will compensate with energy from the battery. For this reason, make sure that the consumer does not exceed the capacity of the main source, otherwise the battery will discharge and will not have time to recharge.
