The Mini SR602 module, compatible with Arduino and other development boards, is a motion sensor based on pyrolytic infrared technology, offering a compact solution for motion detection. This module is ideal for home automation projects, security systems, and applications where it is necessary to detect human or animal movement. Due to its small size, it is easy to integrate into various projects.
The sensor supports a wide voltage between 3.3 and 15VDC, making it compatible with most development boards. Its operation is quite simple, having three pins, two for power and one for signal. The signal pin will give a fixed 3.3V signal when it detects movement, which is why, regardless of the supply voltage, you won't risk burning the development board.
It can detect movement up to 5 meters away (preferably up to 3.5 meters). The time to maintain the HIGH state is 2.5 seconds but can be set up to 1 hour by changing a resistor.
The sensor detects movement both during the day and at night, but this behavior can be changed to make it work only at night. On the board there are two forests marked with S+ and S-. Installing a photoresistor on this sensor will make the sensor work exclusively at night (useful if you want to activate motion-based lighting systems that only work at night).
