It connects development boards and sensors operating at different logic levels by converting the signal from 3.3V to 5V and from 5V to 3.3V.
VCCA is connected to the 3.3V source
VCCB is connected to the 5V source
GND is connected common to both 3.3V and 5V sources
When Ax has a TTL 3.3V input, Bx has a TTL 5V output
When Bx has a TTL 5V input, Ax has a TTL 3.3V output
