Quad band operation, simple communication via TTL serial port without MAX232, automatic start-up and includes antenna for better reception. Status LEDs quickly indicate the presence or absence of signal, 3.7-4.2V power supply and 3.3V.

Logic voltage: 3.3VDC (WARNING, NOT 5V TOLERANT!)

No MAX232 needed, having TTL serial port, connects directly to the development board.

Status indicator LEDs: slow blink when signal is present, fast blink when signal is absent
Connection:
A voltage divider is required on the RX pin when used with 5V development boards!

IMPORTANT! The RX pin of the SIM800L module requires a 3.3V signal! When used with 5V boards, it needs a logic level converter! Otherwise, you will not see responses to AT commands and risk damaging the module!
