IC NE555, SMD type, original, with 8 pins. This is a monolithic integrated timing circuit, very stable and reliable, designed to provide precise time delays or oscillations, being a versatile component in countless electronic applications. Due to its ease of use and its adaptability in several operating modes, the NE555 is one of the most famous integrated circuits in the world.

In monostable (timer) mode, the time interval is precisely controlled by a resistor and an external capacitor. In stable mode, used as an oscillator, the NE555 allows precise control of frequency and duty cycle with the help of two resistors and a capacitor. The NE555 also supports bistable operation, functioning as a flip-flop for various switching applications.

This circuit can be triggered and reset by falling signals, and the output stage can supply or absorb up to 200mA, providing flexibility for powering loads such as LEDs, motors and other components.

Main operating modes:

Monostable Mode: The NE555 works as a single pulse generator, producing a single output of the set duration. Common applications include timers, missing pulse detection and debounce-free switches.

Astable Mode: In this mode, the NE555 works as an oscillator, generating a continuous square signal. Applications include flashers for LEDs and lamps, pulse generators, logic clocks, tone generators, security alarms and Pulse Width Modulation (PWM).

Bistable Mode: Operating as a flip-flop, the NE555 switches between two stable states, ideal for reverberation-free latching switches and switching circuits.
