Panel-mount PWM signal generator module, intended for applications where a rectangular-wave source with adjustable parameters and permanent value display is required. The module generates a PWM signal with adjustable frequency between 1 Hz and 150 kHz and duty cycle adjustable across the full 0–100% range, controlled by an integrated rotary encoder with push button. The display shows both frequency and duty cycle, and the output signal amplitude is equal to the supply voltage, allowing the logic level to be adapted to the system in which it is integrated.

The frequency is automatically organized into four display categories, each with its own adjustment resolution. The NNN format, with no decimal point, covers the 1 Hz–999 Hz range with 1 Hz resolution. The N.NN format, with the decimal point in the hundredths position, covers the 1.00 kHz–9.99 kHz range with 0.01KHz. resolution. The NN.N format covers the 10.0 kHz–99.9 kHz range with 0.1 kHz resolution, and the N.N.N format covers the 1 kHz–150 kHz range with 1 kHz resolution. This division allows fine adjustment at low frequencies and fast coverage of the range at high frequencies.

The configured settings are stored internally and automatically restored after the module is restarted, so reconfiguration is not required at every power-up. The module also has a setting lock function, activated by a long press, which prevents accidental changes during operation. An On/Off button allows the output signal to be turned on and off without losing the current configuration.

The connections are grouped into two pairs of terminals, V+ and V- for power supply, and PWM and G for the output signal, which simplifies installation and clearly separates the power section from the signal section. The wide 3.3–30 VDC supply range makes the module compatible with most development platforms and common lab power sources. The generated signal can be used as a clock source, for testing digital inputs, for controlling stepper motor drivers, for PWM fan speed control, for adjusting LED strip brightness through an external driver, or as a test signal for an oscilloscope. The module can be used together with Arduino UNO, Nano or Mega boards, with ESP32, ESP8266, STM32, Raspberry Pi Pico modules, or other compatible platforms, either as an external signal source or as a test instrument for validating capture and measurement inputs.

The current available on the signal output is limited, so power loads must be driven through a MOSFET transistor, a dedicated driver, or an optocoupler. The output is not intended for directly powering motors, relays, or LED strips.

Usage:

Mount the module in the panel cutout and secure it according to the available fastening system.

Connect the power supply to terminals V+ and V-, observing polarity and staying within the 3.3–30 VDC range.

Connect the PWM terminal to the input of the controlled circuit, and terminal G to its ground, to ensure a common reference.

Power the module and wait for the previously stored values to be displayed.

Rotate the encoder to change the Duty Cycle value; this is the active parameter at startup.

Briefly press the encoder button to switch to frequency adjustment, then rotate to set the desired value.

Press and hold for 5 seconds to switch between normal adjustment mode and fine adjustment mode, depending on the required precision.

After configuration, press and hold for 2 seconds to lock the settings and prevent accidental changes.

Use the On/Off button to enable or disable the output signal without losing the configuration.

Check the signal with an oscilloscope or frequency meter before connecting it to a sensitive circuit.

Terminals V- and G are ground references. For correct operation, the ground of the controlled circuit must be connected to terminal G, and the power supply to V+ and V-.
