UPS module, 12V, with charging function for Li-Ion 18650 batteries, equipped with Type-C charging interface, specially designed for uninterrupted power supply of electronic equipment that requires 12V.
Ideal for routers, surveillance cameras, development boards or any other 12V compatible device, this module ensures automatic and instant switching between external power and battery, without interruption of operation.
The module allows the insertion of 1 or 2 18650 batteries, in parallel, for greater capacity and longer operation without mains power.
The Type-C port allows a battery charging current of up to 1A, offering compatibility with most 18650 batteries, and the integrated voltage booster, which can deliver around 15W, is suitable even for consumers with higher demands.
The module includes protection and automatic charging for Li-Ion batteries, as well as a two-color LED indicator that shows the charging status: green for a fully charged battery, red during charging.
There is also a red LED that is permanently activated when the batteries are connected, which is why you will have to take into account the fact that, if the module remains disconnected from the 5V source for a long time, the LED will slowly discharge the batteries.
If you do not want to use the Type-C port, you can directly connect a 5VDC voltage to the dedicated pads.

Use
Attach one or two 18650 Li-Ion batteries to the module, observing the polarity marked on the battery holder. Reverse connection may result in permanent damage to the module.
Connect the external power supply to the Type-C port. It can be any charger capable of outputting 5V with 1A. Alternatively, if you have a stable 5VDC source, you can directly solder the wires to 5V+ and 5V- , respecting the polarity.
Connect the device that operates on 12V (e.g. router, surveillance camera, development board) through the module output, marked with UPS+ and UPS- , respecting the polarity, in order not to burn the equipment. Make sure that the consumer does not require a source greater than 15W (1.2A at 12V). Information related to the consumption of the equipment is usually mentioned on its charger or on the equipment.
The module instantly switches to battery power when external power is interrupted, ensuring continuous operation of the equipment. When external power returns, the module automatically restarts battery charging.
Periodically check the connections and battery condition for safety and optimal operation.
