This miniature solenoid valve is designed for precise air-flow control in 6VDC-powered applications. The valve operates in Normally Closed (NC) mode, which means that in the absence of power the air passage is closed, with no energy consumption. When the rated 6 VDC voltage is applied, the internal coil actuates the mechanism and opens the circuit, allowing air to pass between the two ports with diameters of 3.5 mm and 3 mm.

When power is disconnected, the valve automatically returns to the closed position. Power consumption is under 2 W, and the compact 13 x 15 x 20 mm body makes it suitable for integration into space-limited devices.

The supported pressure range is between 0 and 350 mmHg, with an exhaust speed of under 3 seconds for a 500 cc vessel from 300 mmHg to 15 mmHg and excellent sealing, with pressure drop under 5 mmHg per minute.

Operating noise is under 60 dB measured at 30 cm, and the accepted operating temperature is between 0 and 55 °C. The valve is compatible with any control system that can supply 6 VDC, including Arduino, ESP32, STM32 platforms or other microcontrollers, provided an external switching element is used.

Usage:

Connect the valve's red wire to the positive terminal of the 6 VDC supply and the black wire to ground (GND).

In the absence of power, the valve remains closed and does not allow air to pass through.

When 6 VDC is applied, the valve opens and allows airflow between the two ports.

When power is disconnected, the valve automatically returns to the closed position.

Do not exceed the rated 6 VDC voltage; overvoltage may permanently damage the coil.

For control from a microcontroller (Arduino, ESP32, STM32 etc.), do not connect the valve directly to a GPIO pin, because the current drawn by the coil exceeds the pin's maximum capacity.

Use an NPN transistor (e.g. 2N2222, BC547), relay, or a MOSFET (e.g. IRLZ44N) as the switching element between the control pin and the valve coil.

Install a flyback protection diode (e.g. 1N4007) in parallel with the valve coil, with the cathode toward the red wire (plus), to dissipate the reverse voltage generated when the coil switches off and protect the control circuit.
