BMS (Battery Management System) protective board with balancing (balance), compatible with Lithium Ion cells with a maximum voltage of 4.2V in a charged state, designed to provide safety and efficiency to battery systems with a configuration of 14 cells in series (14S ), operating at a voltage of 52V.
It has protection and balancing features, being ideal for managing and maintaining the optimized performance of battery packs in a variety of applications. The Balance function of the module compensates for the small voltage differences that may appear between the inserted cells, in their daily use. The balance is a passive one, in the sense that on each battery series there is a resistor that, by generating heat, will discharge from the series of cells that have a higher voltage compared to the other lines of inserted batteries. The discharge of these cells is done with a fairly small current (approximately 42mA), only during the charging process (toward the completion of charging at 4.2V). This small balancing current is sufficient if the cells used are identical to the specifications, but if cells with different characteristics or levels of wear are used, it will not be able to compensate for the voltage differences.
The BMS can support a continuous current of up to 45A, with short peaks of up to 150A, specifications that make it suitable for a multitude of projects.
It has multiple protections such as short-circuit protection, low-voltage and high-voltage protection on each individual series, over-current protection.
The balance plug is included, with wires ready to solder to the cell pack terminals.
The balancing resistors are placed on the heatsink (they are not on the main PCB) and connect to the main board via a pin header. This ensures a more compact size of the BMS but also an improved cooling, considering the fact that the resistors will heat up trying to keep the cells in balance with each other.

Use:
Before connecting the plug to the BMS, solder the wires on the batteries starting from 0V (BLACK wire) , followed by the next Red wire to the Plus of the first battery (4.2V) , followed by the Plus of the next battery, until the connections are completed where you should have the last Red wire to the Final Plus of the battery pack. Once you've made sure you've connected the batteries to the plug, CHECK again to make sure it's connected properly.
Afterwards, connect the plug to the BMS and make the connections with the power wires. In the case of this BMS, the SAME PORT type connection is used, that is, the same terminals are used for both charging and discharging. In the picture below, the rectangle with + and - (a plug in this case) is used for both charging and discharging. Only the minus of the package passes through the BMS, the plus goes directly to the consumer/charger.
