BMS (Battery Management System) module, for Lithium Ion cells in 6S configuration (6 in series), with balance and 40A current. The maximum voltage per cell is 4.2V and the nominal total voltage of the battery pack is 24V.
This BMS offers individual protection on the inserted cells, preventing over-charging, over-discharging, over-current and short-circuit. If one of the cells goes out of the maximum voltage parameters, charging or discharging will be interrupted. It also achieves the balance between cells with a maximum current of 45mA. This balance is thought to compensate for the small voltage differences between the inserted cells which, in the long term, add up and lead to much larger differences. It is important that the inserted cells, as with any other BMS, are equal both in capacity, internal resistance and degree of wear. It is also recommended that the cells, before being inserted, be placed in parallel for at least 24 hours, in order to equalize the voltage between them.
