Pocket charger, with balance and IPS color screen, from ToolkitRC, is a quality product that can charge Lithium batteries in configurations between 1S and 4S.
The major advantage of this charger is that it can be powered directly through the USB Type-C port or through the XT-60 port. at the top we find an XT60 port and a USB Type-C port for power, and at the bottom we find two output ports, XT60 and XT30. The port selection mechanism used by sliding ensures the device against accidentally connecting two batteries to both plugs at the same time.
To work through the USB Type-C port, it is necessary to use a charger with QC, PD, AFC or FCP protocol. Sources that cannot provide these protocols do not work.
It can be powered by an external battery provided with an XT60 plug and with a voltage between 5 and 20VDC. For example, a larger external powerbank (or any external battery with QC protocol) can be used to charge the batteries of drones or radio models.
The charger has an internal fan for heat dissipation (generated especially when discharging batteries in Storage mode). It can, apart from charging the battery, discharge the batteries at the voltage selected in the menu.
If the battery is initially connected at the bottom (XT60 and XT30 ports), the charger enters charging mode, this means that when a device such as a phone is connected at the top, to the USB-C port, it will be charged from the source battery the device.
Notes:
- If the selected charging current is higher than the power that the power source can provide, it is possible for the charger to charge in "parts", which is noticeable on the displayed charging current. If the charging current oscillates up and then returns to 0 and then up again, the problem is the power supply is too weak. You can solve it by selecting a lower charging current.
