The signal generator uses an NE555 timer to generate a square wave signal. It can be used as an adjustable pulse for microcontroller applications as well as for driving stepper motors.
IMPORTANT: Before changing the frequency range (moving the jumper), always turn off the module!
The NE555 timer is configured in 4 frequency ranges:
- 1Hz to 50Hz
- 50Hz to 1 KHz
- 1KHz to 10KHz
- 10KHz to 200KHz
The range can be selected via a jumper (see image).
The frequency within the selected range and the duty cycle are adjustable through the two potentiometers.
Supply voltage: 5 - 15VDC
Supply current: 15mA at 5V, 35mA at 12V
Output amplitude: 4.2V at 11.4 peak to peak, depending on the supply voltage
Integrated LED that lights up at LOW output and blinks according to the frequency.
