This module performs bidirectional conversion between the USB interface and the RS485 serial protocol, intended for industrial automation, remote monitoring, and control applications.
The board integrates two dedicated circuits: FT232RL for USB-TTL conversion and MAX485 for differential TTL-RS485 conversion, ensuring stable and reliable communication over distances of up to 1200 meters.
The default TTL logic level is 5V. The RS485 terminal is a three-point screw connector (A+, B-, GND) for robust field line connection. The board includes 8.7V TVS diodes for RS485 line overvoltage protection, an LED indicator for RX activity, and direct power supply via USB without an external source.
The board supports bidirectional half-duplex communication. Its compact dimensions and integrated USB Type B connector directly on the board eliminate the need for additional cables.
The module is compatible with Arduino, ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi, and any system with an available USB port, operating on Windows, Linux, and macOS through the standard FTDI VCP driver.

Usage:
Install the FTDI VCP driver from ftdichip.com for your operating system.
Connect the module to the USB port of your computer or power source.
Check for recognition of the virtual serial port in Device Manager (Windows: COMx) or terminal (Linux: /dev/ttyUSBx).
If using the module directly with a PC, leave the jumpers installed and connect the RS485 line to the green screw terminal.
Connect the A+ wire to the corresponding terminal on the green connector and the B- wire to the adjacent terminal.
Ensure all devices on the RS485 bus share the same GND to avoid potential differences.
Set the desired baud rate in software, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity.
