The T8 shaft collar is a stainless steel locking ring, with an inner diameter of 8 mm, intended for smooth guide shafts and T8 rods with the same diameter. Its role is to stop the axial movement of a component mounted on a shaft, functioning as a stop, spacer, or support surface for linear bearings, gears, rollers, or other moving parts. It is commonly used in 3D printers, CNC machines, linear positioning systems, and in amateur or professional mechanical builds.
The collar is a full, non-split ring, with an outer diameter of 13 mm and a thickness of 5 mm, compact enough for assemblies with limited space on the shaft. It is secured to the shaft by a radial M4 hex socket set screw, which presses directly against the shaft surface and locks it in the desired position. Because the ring is not split, installation must be done by sliding it on from one free end of the shaft, not from the side.
Among its main features are the 304 stainless steel construction, corrosion resistance and good clamping force, the fixing screw with a hex socket operated with a 2 mm wrench, and the smooth finish of the inner and outer surfaces, which does not scratch the shaft during installation and removal.
Due to its 8 mm inner diameter, the lock is compatible with 8 mm smooth guide shafts and 8 mm T8 rods used in screw-nut transmission systems, making it suitable for 3D printers, CNC machines, robots, and other mechanical structures that use this shaft diameter.

Use:
Slide the lock onto the 8 mm shaft from one free end until the desired position is reached.
Align the collar so that the fixing screw is easily accessible with the hex key.
Tighten the M4 screw with a 2 mm hex key until the collar is firmly fixed on the shaft.
Check that the shaft rotates freely inside the collar when the screw is loosened and that it locks completely after tightening.
Do not exceed the recommended tightening torque for the M4 screw, to avoid deforming the shaft or stripping the screw thread.
For assemblies subject to vibration, periodically check the screw tightness and retighten if necessary.
To limit axial movement in both directions, use two locks mounted on either side of the component to be secured, for example a linear bearing or a gear.
