Experimental model of a Stirling engine, fully functional, for educational purposes, made of metal, which works based on the temperature difference between the two areas of the engine. The Stirling engine is connected by a pulley and belt to an electric motor that acts as a generator. Attaching an LED to the motor terminals allows you to observe the generation of current by lighting the LED.

The engine is ideal for physics enthusiasts, for students or teachers, but also as a decorative object or creative gift.

The set includes a heating lamp (requires filling with 95% Alcohol).

CAUTION! Do not move the connecting rods from their position on the flywheel as this will disrupt the timing and require resynchronization.

Use:

Operation is simple: fill the included lamp with 95% alcohol (recommended), light it, and let the round cylinder heat up for 60–120 seconds. Then, a simple push of the wheel will set the engine in motion, spectacularly demonstrating the Stirling principle of thermodynamics.

Fill the lamp with 95% alcohol (not included).

Place the lamp under the round cylinder of the engine. The flame should be as far back as possible from the piston, just touching the top of the cylinder. You can see in the picture below the area that needs to be heated (circled in red).

Turn on the lamp and wait 60–120 seconds for it to warm up.

Gently push the wheel (steering wheel) to initiate engine movement.

Attach an LED to the terminals of the electric motor (generator), paying attention to the polarity (+ is marked with a red dot).
