Module with integrated microcontroller for controlling RGB LED strips via serial communication, compatible with Arduino and other development boards.

This module communicates with the development board via the serial interface at 9600bps and is compatible with logic voltages between 3.3 and 5VDC.

It features screw connectors for connecting the LED strip (4 pins, GND, R, G, B) and its power supply (2 pins, + and -). There are 3-way MOSFETs on the board for individual control of the 3 RGB colors. The LEDs are controlled via PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) to allow dimming of the channels.

On the side are available the power, serial communication and Reset pins. On the VCC and GND pins located next to RX and TX, the module will be powered with the same voltage of the development board and with the common ground (or directly from the power pin of the development board).

The board uses one A1SHB MOSFET for each channel of the RGB strip. It theoretically supports a maximum voltage of 20VDC, therefore being compatible with LED strips up to 12VDC.

Communication:

To communicate with the module, data strings composed as follows will be used:

Data (1): Startup, default 0x1F

Data (2): Channel number, 1-Red, 2-Green, 3-Blue

Data (3): channel intensity (0-100%, values correspond to 00-64)

Data (4): checksum, to ensure correct data transmission, represents the sum of the first 3 data.

Example:

The string is composed of the 4 data above according to the example below:

Automatic light setting: 1F 00 00 1F

Red set to 1% intensity: 1F 01 01 21

Red set to 50% intensity: 1F 01 32 52

Red set to 99% intensity: 1F 01 63 83

Green set to 1% intensity: 1F 02 01 22

Green set to 50% intensity: 1F 02 32 53

Green set to 99% intensity: 1F 02 63 84

Blue set to 1% intensity: 1F 03 01 23

Blue set to 50% intensity: 1F 03 32 54
