The Ground RX Optical Receiver is the ground unit for receiving the video signal and transmitting commands via fiber optics, useful in FPV applications and platforms where you need a stable, interference-immune link.
The compact enclosure and clear connectors make it easy to integrate, and support for Wire Mode and Wireless Mode lets you quickly choose the right scenario. It has AV video outputs for a monitor or goggles, a UART interface for RX/TX communication with the flight controller, and a dedicated connection for the VTX, so you can route the video signal correctly in your setup.
The fiber-optic cylinder is generally single-use, but the Ground RX module is reusable.
It supports connecting to FPV goggles via the goggles’ VTX or connecting to a monitor via the AV Video OUT connectors.
Wireless connection can have the advantage of allowing connection to the Ground RX from a distance, if desired.
The Ground RX unit can connect directly to a Crossfire radio transmitter via the included CRSF module, without needing a wireless RX receiver, or by connecting the RX to the Ground Module and the transmitter to the RX module. Direct connection requires positioning the slider in the Wired position.

Operating Modes:
Wireless Mode:
Wireless Mode is the operating mode in which Ground RX works together with an external radio receiver (ELRS, TBS Crossfire, or another radio receiver). In wireless mode, the switch is moved to the Wireless position, and the Ground RX module, also called Optical RX, becomes the hub for video and control connections. Ground RX connects to the VTX, which receives the video feed and transmits it wirelessly to the FPV goggles. At the same time, Ground RX connects to the receiver, and the receiver communicates wirelessly with the transmitter using the chosen protocol, such as ELRS or TBS Crossfire. This way, video is transmitted via the VTX to the goggles, and drone control comes through the receiver, with Ground RX integrated in the chain as the link and distribution module.

Wire Mode:
In wire mode, the kit includes a CRSF adapter that connects directly to the transmitter, so you no longer need a separate receiver. Essentially, the transmitter communicates via CRSF with the Ground RX module, and the module then sends the data further over fiber optics, achieving a stable, interference-free link. Video is output from the module via Video AV out to goggles or a monitor, and control is taken directly from the transmitter through the CRSF connection, which simplifies the installation and reduces the number of required components. This mode is recommended when you want quick connection, minimal wiring, and maximum reliability over distance, working even with local jamming.
In this mode, all control is exclusively wired, with no wireless transmissions.
The CRSF module is included in the kit and provides the direct link between the transmitter and Ground RX.


Usage:
Power the Ground RX (Optical RX) with a 4S to 6S battery using an XT60 connector.
Make the connections according to the explanations above.
Select the desired mode using the mode switch: Wire Mode for a direct fiber link, Wireless Mode when you also use the radio segment according to the diagram above.
