The Hiwonder serial bus servomotor controller is a complete and versatile solution for robotics and automation projects involving serial bus type servomotors.
Based on a high-performance STM32 microcontroller with an ARM Cortex-M3 core, this controller offers a unique combination of extended storage capacity, TTL serial communication, and wireless control via a PS2 joystick. It features 16M memory, enough to store up to 230 action groups, each group capable of containing up to 510 individual actions, making it ideal for complex motion sequences in humanoid robotics or articulated mechanisms.
The controller can simultaneously manage up to 40 servomotors through the 10 available interfaces, with the possibility of connecting servomotors in series.
It supports manual programming via a dedicated button, online debugging without the need to install drivers on the computer, and TTL communication through the UART serial interface (RX/TX).
The low voltage alarm protects the servomotors and battery during operation. The interface for the MP3/Bluetooth module and the wireless receiver for the PS2 joystick considerably extend control possibilities.
It is compatible with development platforms such as Arduino, STM32, or any other microcontroller with UART communication, through the GND, TX, RX, and 5V pins available on the secondary development interface.
Attention: this controller is exclusively compatible with Hiwonder serial bus type servomotors. If you use 11.1V servomotors (e.g., LX-224HV, LX-824HV), power the controller with a 11.1V LiPo battery.

Usage:
Connect the power supply (6-12V DC) to the VCC+ and VCC- terminals on the board.
Connect the Hiwonder serial bus servomotors to the available servo ports on the board (left or right). Servomotors can be connected in series.
Slide the switch to the ON position to power on the controller. LED2 (power indicator) will light up.
For manual programming, press the "Program" button to enter action recording mode, then press the "Run" button to execute them.
For control via PC software, connect the board to the computer using the USB cable and open the Hiwonder graphical application. No additional driver is required.
For wireless control, insert the PS2 joystick USB receiver into the dedicated port on the board.
For integration with Arduino, STM32, or ESP32, connect the GND, TX, and RX pins of the development interface to the corresponding UART pins of the development board (controller TX to MCU RX and vice versa). Share the ground (GND) between the two boards.
If the alarm sounds (buzzer), check the battery voltage – it has dropped below the acceptable limit and servomotors may be damaged if you do not replace or recharge the battery.
