The Mini Gigabit Fiber Optical Media Converter set includes converter modules A and B, designed to extend networks that require stable and efficient transmission over optical fiber.
The set includes two modules: Module A and Module B, designed to work together on a single single-mode optical fiber. Each module uses different wavelengths for transmission and reception, so one transmits on one wavelength and receives on another, while the other module does the opposite. For this reason, Module A must be used at one end of the link and Module B at the other end, forming a complementary pair.
Module A transmits an optical signal at 1310 nm and receives at 1550 nm, while Module B transmits at 1550 nm and receives at 1310 nm, thus providing stable bidirectional communication without requiring two fiber strands
These converters allow data transfer over single-mode optical fiber over distances of up to 3 km and feature essential characteristics such as support for 10/100/1000 Mbps speeds, auto-adaptive RJ45 port, compatibility with SC Single Mode port in UPC or APC versions, and low power consumption.
Their compact plastic and metal construction, together with dimensions of only 8.5 x 2.7 cm and a weight of 15 g, makes them easy to integrate into existing networks, in buildings, campuses, IP surveillance systems or industrial applications. Usage:
Connect Module A to the first end of the fiber and Module B to the other end, respecting the direction of the optical transmissions.
Insert the single-mode fiber cable into the SC ports of the modules.
Connect the RJ45 cable between the converter and the switch, router, PC or NVR.
Power on the converters. They automatically adjust to the network speed. Power can be supplied through the DC 5.5x2.1 connector with a 5VDC 2A supply. The power adapter is not included.
Check the LEDs to confirm power and transmission.
Avoid moisture and direct exposure to shocks and vibrations.
