Lithium Polymer battery charging module, compatible with Ternary Lithium Polymer, which allows charging batteries at a voltage of 4.2VDC.
It uses the IP2312 integrated circuit which is capable of Trickle Charge. When the battery voltage is lower than 3.0V, charging is performed with a reduced current of 100mA, and after exceeding this voltage threshold, the charging current reaches up to 3A.
It uses the QC (Quick Charge) standard.
The module is powered through the USB Type-C connector or directly through the IN+ and IN- pads.
The notable feature of this module is that when it detects a voltage of 4.2V in the battery with a charging current of less than 300mA, after the CV (Constant Voltage) phase, it stops charging every 4 minutes to check if the battery voltage drops. If it is above 4.15V, charging is stopped. If it drops below 4.15V, the charging process is resumed to check again after 4 minutes. If the battery is fully charged, recharging will be resumed when the battery voltage drops below 4.1V.
It can charge up to 3A and this charging current can be adjusted by changing the value of the resistor in the picture below as follows:
- factory setting: 3A
- without resistor: 2A
- with 135k resistor: 1A
