Electric arc generator module (igniter), a device designed to produce a high-voltage, high-frequency electric arc. This 20KHz industrial igniter creates a violet, flame-like arc with a central arc temperature reaching an impressive 1500℃. Its exceptional performance allows the instant initiation of combustion for a variety of materials, including plastic sticks, thin iron wires, as well as directly igniting fuels.

Despite the high voltage, the high-frequency electricity generated by this module presents a reduced risk of electric shock to the human body. In the event of accidental contact, the main risk is superficial burns. However, avoid direct contact with the electrodes during operation.

The module has two power supply paths: one represented by two pads where power wires or an XH2.54 connector can be directly attached, and the second represented by the two legs of the capacitor, kept long to allow direct power connection.

IMPORTANT WARNINGS - Read before use:

DO NOT power the module without an arc formed (no-load operation). Start the module only with the electrodes positioned at the correct arcing distance. Operation without an arc or with a broken arc generates voltage spikes that destroy the power transistor.

DO NOT interrupt or stretch the arc during operation beyond the specified maximum distance.

Observe intermittent duty cycle operation. At 9-15V supply, the module can operate for a maximum of 8 minutes, followed by a cooling break. For continuous operation, power it at 7-9V. Exceeding these operating modes leads to overheating and transistor failure.

DO NOT exceed 15V and DO NOT reverse the power polarity. Reversing polarity instantly destroys the module.

Use a power supply capable of providing at least 2A (ideally 3-4A at startup). An undersized power supply that sags in voltage causes unstable oscillations and module failure.

The module heats up during normal operation. Ensure ventilation and do not mount it in enclosed housings without airflow.

Module failure caused by no-load operation, reverse polarity, exceeding the input voltage, exceeding the intermittent duty cycle, or using an undersized power supply is not covered by warranty. The failed transistor is not covered by warranty for the reasons listed above.

Usage:

Position the high-voltage electrodes at the correct arcing distance (0.6-1cm for continuous operation, 1-1.5cm for intermittent operation) before powering on.

Connect a DC power supply capable of providing at least 2A (ideally 3-4A at startup), observing the polarity marked on the module.

Select the supply voltage according to the desired operating mode: 7-9V for continuous operation or 9-15V for intermittent operation of up to 8 minutes.

Power the module and verify immediate arc formation between the electrodes.

Bring the material to be ignited close to the formed arc, without interrupting or stretching the arc beyond the specified maximum distance.

In intermittent mode, turn off the power after a maximum of 8 minutes and allow the module to cool before using it again.

Ensure adequate ventilation, as the module heats up during normal operation, and do not install it in enclosed housings without airflow.
