Original VL53L1X Sensor Module, compatible with Arduino and other development boards, with I2C communication, based on Time-of-Flight (ToF) technology, part of the FlightSense range, which measures the time taken from the emission of the laser pulse to its reception back by the receiver, thus being able to calculate the distance. This sensor allows precise and fast distance measurements, up to 400 cm, at a frequency of up to 50 Hz, being ideal for applications that require precise distance determination, such as autonomous robots. Its compact dimensions (25 × 10.7 × 3.2 mm) and pin-to-pin compatibility with the VL53L0X sensor ensure easy integration.
The sensor's typical field of view is 27° and allows for programmable ROI (region-of-interest) size and position, providing flexibility for field-of-view reduction or multi-zone control. The region-of-interest functionality allows the sensor to be programmed to recognize gestures. The technology used makes it possible to accurately measure distance regardless of the color or reflectivity of the target. In addition, the sensor features an I2C interface with a speed of up to 400 kHz, and includes pins for shutdown and interrupt functions.
The VL53L1X uses a 940 nm (Class 1) laser emitter and a SPAD (single photon diode) receiver array, ensuring high performance in obstacle detection and distance measurement. The package includes a protective optical cover that can be installed as desired, facilitating the use of the sensor in different environments.
The XSHUT pin allows the sensor to be turned off, which is useful when multiple sensors are used on the same I2C line, allowing the user to turn off unused sensors and switch between multiple sensors.
