Lithium battery charging module with a nominal voltage of 3.7V (4.2V full charge), in 1S configuration, using the LX-LC535 integrated circuit, offering a maximum charging current of 3.6A.

This module is characterized by maximum efficiency and multiple protection, this module allows automatic current recognition and adapts to different power sources, as long as they can provide 5VDC. It has an efficiency of over 93%, minimizing power consumption and eliminating the need for an anti-return diode.

The module is equipped with multiple protection systems, including overvoltage protection, short circuit protection and integrated thermal protection (by attaching a 10K NTC thermistor to the dedicated terminals (marked with NTC), making it ideal for safe and reliable uses. It also integrates a heat sink that helps dissipate heat passively.

The LED indicator signals the charging status: red during charging and blue when the battery is fully charged.

Note : Removing the resistor in the picture below sets the charging current to 2.2A.

Specifications:

Input voltage: 4.5V - 5.5VDC, via USB-C jack

Maximum charging current: 3.6A (without modifications) / 2.2A (after removing the indicated resistance)

Efficiency: ≥ 93%

Compatibility: Can charge multiple lithium-ion batteries in parallel, but not in series

Charging voltage: 4.2VDC

Protections: Overvoltage, short circuit, thermal protection (with thermistor not included)

Operating temperature range: -40°C to 85°C

LED indicator: Red while charging, blue when the battery is fully charged

Dimensions: 22mm x 21mm x 5mm (without heatsink), 8.2mm with heatsink

Mounting hole diameter: 2.6mm

Use:

The NTC port allows the connection of a thermistor that can stop the battery charging in case of high battery temperature. The NTC probe is glued to the dedicated PADs, marked with NTC and the sensor itself is mounted directly on the battery, in order to be able to detect a possible increase in battery temperature.

Connecting the battery:

B+ : Positive battery terminal

B- : Negative battery terminal

Module power supply: A voltage between 4.5V and 5.5V is recommended for optimal operation, via USB Type-C connector

LED indicator monitoring:

Red = Charging

Blue = Full charge

Careful:

Do not reverse the battery polarity.

Do not use cables that are too thin or too long to connect the batteries, considering that the module can charge with 3.6A, which can easily lead to melting of the wire insulation, followed by a short circuit.

Heat Management: High charging current can generate additional heat. In case of overheating, ensure adequate ventilation or reduce the current by removing the indicated resistance.

The current mentioned on the module is the current at the battery terminals, not the input current! The input current at 5V is lower than the output current at the battery.

Not compatible with batteries connected in series! Only parallel connections are allowed.

If an NTC sensor is used, it can be used to stop charging in the event of a short circuit.
