## Description

ECG kit with AD8232 and 3 electrodes, for measuring and visualizing the ECG signal in Arduino projects and other development boards. It effectively filters noise and provides a stable analog signal, includes electrode disconnection detection for more reliable measurements, works with 2 or 3 electrodes for flexibility, very low power consumption, heart rate LED and quick connection via 3.5 mm jack.
The module consists of the AD8232 ECG Module (an operational amplifier that attaches to the included sensors) and 3 sensors. The product is compatible with Arduino and other development boards.
The kit is ideal for projects measuring the electrical activity of the heart, the AD8232 module managing to filter out noise generated by the rest of the body.
The module benefits from a lead-off detection function, which signals the loss of contact with the skin, thus contributing to the reliability of the measurements. It can operate in both two-electrode and three-electrode configurations, being flexible and easy to adapt. With a very low power consumption of only 170 µA, it is ideal for portable devices. It includes an LED that signals the detected heart rate, and connections are easy to make using the 3.5 mm jack cable included in the package.

Programming and visualization:
Use the Arduino IDE to upload a sketch that reads pin A0.
Open the Serial Plotter to view the ECG signal in real time.
Example code:
____________________________________________________________
// Pinout
const int ECG_PIN = A0; // Analog ECG signal
const int LO_PLUS = 10; // Lead-off detection LO+
const int LO_MINUS = 11; // Lead-off detection LO-
void setup() {
Serial.begin(9600);
pinMode(LO_PLUS, INPUT);
pinMode(LO_MINUS, INPUT);
}
void loop() {
int loPlusState = digitalRead(LO_PLUS);
int loMinusState = digitalRead(LO_MINUS);
// Check if electrodes are disconnected
if (loPlusState == HIGH || loMinusState == HIGH) {
Serial.println("!!! ELECTRODES DISCONNECTED !!!");
} else {
// Read ECG signal
int ecgValue = analogRead(ECG_PIN);
Serial.println(ecgValue); // for Serial Plotter
}
delay(1); // fast sampling rate
}

Recommendations:
Make sure the skin is clean for good electrode adhesion and slightly moisten the skin for better conductivity.
Avoid breadboards for connections – prefer stable connectors or solder joints.
Use a stable power supply to prevent interference and erroneous readings.
Use the serial monitor in Serial Plotter mode to see the graphical representation of the analog signal.
Placing the electrodes closer to the heart leads to more accurate readings.
