## Description

2.2 inch flexible analog sensor for measuring bending degree in robotic gloves and wearable projects, changes its resistance from 25K ohm straight to 45K-125K ohm when bent for easy reading with ADC. Durable, over 1 million cycles, operates between -35 and +80°C, 2-pin interface with 0.1 pitch, compatible with Arduino, ESP32, STM32.
The 2.2" flex sensor is a compact analog device designed to detect the degree of mechanical bending of an object or surface.
It works on the principle of electrical resistance variation: in a straight state, the resistance is approximately 25K ohms, and as the sensor bends, the resistance gradually increases, reaching between 45K and 125K ohms depending on the bending angle. This variation can be read and interpreted by a microcontroller.
The sensor supports over 1 million bending cycles, has a nominal power of 0.5W and a peak power of 1W, and operates within a wide temperature range from -35 to +80 degrees Celsius.
The physical dimensions are 73.66 x 6.35 mm, with a 2-Pin interface spaced 0.1" apart. Compatible with Arduino (Uno, Nano, Mega), STM32, ESP32, and any platform with an analog input.
Specifications:
Active length: 5.6 cm (2.2")
Total dimensions: 73.66 x 6.35 mm
Straight state resistance: 25K ohms
Resistance tolerance: 30%
Bending resistance: 45K - 125K ohms
Nominal power: 0.5W
Peak power: 1W
Lifetime: >1,000,000 bending cycles
Operating temperature: -35 to +80 degrees Celsius
Interface: 2-Pin, 0.1" pitch
Compatibility: Arduino, STM32, ESP32, any platform with ADC
Usage:
Connect one of the pins to the power supply voltage (3.3V or 5V, depending on the platform).
Connect the other pin to an analog pin of the microcontroller (e.g., A0 on Arduino).
Add a pull-down resistor between the analog pin and GND (recommended value: 10K - 47K ohms) to form a voltage divider.
Read the analog value in your code and map it to a desired angle or degree of curvature.
Mount the sensor on the surface or joint you want to monitor, ensuring that bending occurs along the sensor's active axis (lengthwise, not widthwise).
Calibrate the minimum and maximum values according to your application (robotic glove, joint, etc.).
Arduino Example:
Note: The sensor does not have fixed polarity. The typical circuit is a voltage divider: VCC - Sensor - Node (ADC) - Pull-down resistor - GND.
