## Description

High-precision digital sensor for simultaneous measurement of pressure, temperature, and humidity, ideal for weather stations, automation, and IoT projects. The 5V version has an integrated regulator and logic level conversion, allowing direct connection to Arduino without additional circuits and remains compatible with 3.3V platforms. It offers I2C and SPI interfaces, fast response, and good measurement stability.
The GY-BME280 module in the 5V version is a high-precision digital sensor designed for simultaneous measurement of atmospheric pressure, temperature, and relative humidity, equipped with a voltage regulator and a logic level conversion circuit integrated on the board.
This version is specially designed to be used directly with platforms operating at 5V, such as Arduino Uno, Arduino Mega, or Arduino Nano, without requiring any external protection or conversion components. The sensor remains compatible with 3.3V platforms such as ESP32, STM32, or Raspberry Pi, thus offering maximum versatility.
The main features of this module include: a pressure measurement range between 300 and 1100 hPa (equivalent to altitudes between -500 m and +9000 m above sea level), relative accuracy of ±0.12 hPa (equivalent to ±1 m), typical absolute accuracy of ±1 hPa, relative humidity measurement, operating temperature range between -40°C and +85°C, temperature resolution of 0.01°C, and pressure resolution of 0.16 Pa. The voltage regulator on the board ensures proper power supply to the BME280 chip at 3.3V regardless of the input voltage (5V or 3.3V), and the logic level conversion circuit protects the sensor against 5V voltages on the I2C and SPI data lines.
The module supports both I2C interface (up to 3.4 MHz) and SPI (3 and 4 wire, up to 10 MHz). The board includes built-in pull-up resistors and decoupling capacitors, ready for use immediately after connection.

Pin
Function
VCC
Power 5V (or 3.3V)
GND
Ground
SCL
I2C Clock / SPI Clock (SCK) - 5V compatible
SDA
I2C Data / SPI Data (SDI/MOSI) - 5V compatible
CSB
SPI chip select (active Low) / VCC for I2C
SDO
SPI MISO / I2C address (Low = 0x76, High = 0x77)
Usage:
Connect VCC to the 5V pin of the Arduino board (or 3.3V if using ESP32, STM32, or Raspberry Pi).
Connect GND to the common ground of the circuit.
Connect SCL to the I2C clock pin of the microcontroller (e.g., pin A5 on Arduino Uno, pin 21 on Arduino Mega, GPIO22 on ESP32).
Connect SDA to the I2C data pin (e.g., pin A4 on Arduino Uno, pin 20 on Arduino Mega, GPIO21 on ESP32).
For I2C mode, connect CSB to VCC and set the address via SDO: GND for address 0x76, VCC for address 0x77.
For SPI mode, connect CSB to a digital output pin of the microcontroller and SDO to the MISO pin.
Install the "Adafruit BME280" library from the Arduino IDE Library Manager.
Upload the test code below and open the Serial Monitor at 9600 baud to check the sensor readings.
Ensure that the sensor is not exposed directly to heat sources, excessive humidity, or strong vibrations to obtain accurate measurements.
Note: If the I2C address is 0x77 (SDO connected to VCC), change bme.begin(0x76) to bme.begin(0x77). The code is identical for both voltage variants, as the conversion is handled in hardware by the 5V module.
