## Description

Precision digital sensor for simultaneous measurement of pressure, temperature, and humidity, ideal for weather stations, environmental monitoring, altimeters, and IoT projects. Operates at 3.3V with very low power consumption, communicates via I2C or SPI for quick integration with Arduino, ESP32, STM32, and Raspberry Pi, offering fine resolution and good stability in readings.
The GY-BME280 module is a high-precision digital sensor designed for simultaneous measurement of atmospheric pressure, temperature, and relative humidity. This module is ideal for environmental monitoring applications, weather stations, altimeters, and IoT systems. The sensor operates at 3.3V and is compatible with Arduino, STM32, ESP32, Raspberry Pi platforms, and any microcontroller with I2C or SPI interface. Due to its extremely low power consumption of only 2.7 uA at a 1 Hz sampling rate, the module is perfect for battery-powered applications.
The main features of this module include: pressure measurement range between 300 and 1100 hPa (equivalent to altitudes between -500 m and +9000 m above sea level), relative accuracy of ±0.12 hPa (equivalent to ±1 m), typical absolute accuracy of ±1 hPa, relative humidity measurement, operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C, temperature resolution of 0.01°C, and pressure resolution of 0.16 Pa.
The module supports both I2C interface (up to 3.4 MHz) and SPI (3 and 4 wires, up to 10 MHz), offering maximum design flexibility.
The BME280 chip is easily recognizable by its square shape, unlike the BMP280 version which has a rectangular chip. The board includes integrated pull-up resistors and decoupling capacitors, being ready for immediate use after connection.

SCL
I2C Clock / SPI Clock (SCK)
SDA
I2C Data / SPI Data (SDI/MOSI)
CSB
SPI Chip Select (active Low) / VCC for I2C
SDO
SPI MISO / I2C Address (Low = 0x76, High = 0x77)
Usage:
Connect VCC to the 3.3V pin of the development board (NOT to 5V).
Connect GND to the common ground of the circuit.
Connect SCL to the I2C clock pin of the microcontroller (e.g., pin A5 on Arduino Uno, GPIO22 on ESP32).
Connect SDA to the I2C data pin (e.g., pin A4 on Arduino Uno, GPIO21 on ESP32).
For I2C mode, connect CSB to VCC and set the address via SDO: GND for 0x76, VCC for 0x77.
For SPI mode, connect CSB to a digital output pin of the microcontroller and SDO to the MISO pin.
Install the "Adafruit BME280" library from the Arduino IDE Library Manager.
Upload the test code below and open the Serial Monitor at 9600 baud to verify sensor readings.
Ensure that the sensor is not exposed directly to heat sources, excessive humidity, or strong vibrations to obtain accurate measurements.
Note: If the I2C address is 0x77 (SDO connected to VCC), modify bme.begin(0x76) to bme.begin(0x77)
