## Description

Inductive proximity sensor for non-contact detection of metal objects, ideal for automation and DIY projects. It mounts quickly on an M18 thread, has an NPN NO output compatible with PLC and Arduino, operates at 6-36 VDC, and offers detection up to 10 mm. Rugged housing with IP67 protection and a status LED for quick verification.
Inductive sensor from the LJA series designed for non-contact detection of metal objects. The cylindrical body with a diameter of 18 mm (M18) allows quick mounting in various industrial applications or DIY projects. The LJA18M-10N1 variant features a detection distance of 10 mm, NPN output, normally open (NO), operates at a supply voltage ranging from 6-36 VDC, and comes with an integrated 2-meter cable with 3 wires. The sensor is of the non-flush type.
The status LED indicates the presence of an object within the detection range, and the built-in protections (short circuit, reverse polarity) ensure safe operation in industrial environments.

Usage:
Install the sensor on an M18 compatible mount, ensuring a clear distance from other metal objects that could interfere with detection.
Connect the brown wire to the power source (6-36 VDC), the blue wire to ground, and the black wire to the controller input (PLC, Arduino, relay, etc.).
For stable operation, it is recommended that the working distance be set to a maximum of 70% of the standard detection distance. The standard detection distance (10 mm) applies to iron. For other metals, the effective distance is calculated by multiplying the standard detection distance by the corresponding correction factor:
Steel: ~0.9
Brass: ~0.7
Chrome-nickel: ~0.6
Aluminum: ~0.4
In the absence of a metal object in front of the sensor, the output is OFF (zero voltage). When a metal object enters the detection range, the output switches to GND (LOW level), activating the load connected between the output and VCC. The built-in LED lights up simultaneously.
Attention!
Do not exceed the maximum output current of 300 mA. For large loads (gear motors, bulbs, etc.), use an intermediate relay.
In applications with strong interference, install an overvoltage protection device.
Do not use the sensor during the first 100 ms after powering on, as this is the stabilization period.
