## Description

Inductive proximity sensor for non-contact detection of metal objects in automation and DIY projects. M18 non-flush mounting, detection distance up to 10 mm for iron, PNP NC output compatible with PLCs and controllers, 6–36V DC power supply. Robust housing with IP67 protection, status LED, and integrated 2 m cable for quick installation.
Inductive sensor from the LJA series designed for contactless detection of metal objects. The cylindrical body with a diameter of 18mm (M18) allows quick mounting in various industrial applications or DIY projects. The LJA18M-10P2 variant features a detection distance of 10 mm, PNP output, normally closed (NC), operates at a supply voltage range of 6-36 VDC, and comes with an integrated 2-meter cable with 3 wires. The sensor is of the non-flush type.
The status LED indicates the presence of an object within the detection range, and the integrated protections (short circuit, reverse polarity) ensure safe operation in industrial environments.

Usage:
Install the sensor on a compatible M18 holder, ensuring a free distance from other metal objects that could interfere with detection.
Connect the brown wire to the power supply (6-36 VDC), the blue wire to ground, and the black wire to the controller input (PLC, Arduino, relay, etc.).
For stable operation, it is recommended that the working distance be set to a maximum of 70% of the standard detection distance. The standard detection distance (10 mm) applies to iron. For other metals, the effective distance is calculated by multiplying the standard detection distance by the corresponding correction factor:
Steel: ~0.9
Brass: ~0.7
Chrome-nickel: ~0.6
Aluminum: ~0.4
When no metal object is in front of the sensor, the output is ON (switched to supply voltage, VCC). When a metal object enters the detection range, the output switches OFF (zero voltage), and the built-in LED lights up.
Warning!
Do not exceed the maximum output current of 300 mA; for high loads (gear motors, bulbs, etc.), use an intermediate relay.
In applications with strong interference, install an overvoltage protection device.
Do not use the sensor during the first 100 ms after powering on, as this is the stabilization period.
