## Description

Module for precise color detection and light intensity, ideal for sorting, LED calibration, or surface analysis. It offers simultaneous measurement on RGB plus clear channels with 16-bit ADC, includes an IR filter for stable results under varying light, communicates simply via I2C at address 0x29, and operates at 3.3V or 5V with low power consumption.
The TCS3472 module is a high-precision color sensor designed for detecting and quantifying light in the visible spectrum. It incorporates an integrated infrared filter that eliminates the influence of IR radiation on measurements, ensuring accurate results under varied lighting conditions.
The sensor is based on the TCS3472 integrated circuit from ams OSRAM and contains a photodiode matrix organized into four channels: 16 photodiodes for red, 16 for green, 16 for blue, and 16 without filter (clear). This configuration allows simultaneous measurement of light intensity on each channel and total light, providing complete data for color analysis.
Communication is carried out via the I2C interface with the default address 0x29, which simplifies integration with popular platforms such as Arduino, ESP32, STM32, and Raspberry Pi.
The 16-bit ADC resolution on each channel ensures high data granularity, and the low current consumption (235 uA in active mode and only 2.5 uA in sleep mode) makes it suitable for battery-powered applications. The compact format of 31 x 11 mm and weight of only 2.3 g facilitate integration in tight spaces.

Usage:
The sensor detects light reflected from the surface of an object and decomposes it into its RGB and clear components. Raw data is provided as 16-bit numerical values, which can be used to determine the dominant color or to calibrate the system according to ambient lighting conditions.
Connect the VIN pin to 5V or 3V3 to 3.3V, depending on the voltage available on your platform.
Connect the GND pin to the development board ground.
Connect SCL to the I2C clock pin of the microcontroller (e.g., A5 on Arduino Uno).
Connect SDA to the I2C data pin of the microcontroller (e.g., A4 on Arduino Uno).
Install the Adafruit TCS34725 library from the Library Manager in the Arduino IDE.
Upload the test code and open the Serial Monitor at 9600 baud to view the RGB and clear values.
Position the sensor at a distance of 5-20 mm from the surface of the object being analyzed, with the illumination LED active for optimal results.
Use the INT pin to configure hardware interrupts when values exceed predefined thresholds, thus avoiding continuous polling.
