## Description

Compact sensor for detecting and monitoring UV radiation, ideal for microcontroller projects and portable exposure measurement systems. Covers 200-370 nm, offers 0-1V proportional analog output for easy reading on ADC, operates at 3-5V and has very low consumption, making it suitable for environmental monitoring and educational applications.
The UVM-30A module is a compact sensor for detecting and monitoring ultraviolet radiation, useful when you want to estimate the level of UV exposure in various applications. It measures radiation in the range of 200-370 nm and provides an analog output proportional to the intensity of the detected UV light, making it easy to integrate with microcontrollers and development boards.
With low current consumption, flexible power supply at 3V-5V and output signal up to 1V, the module is suitable for portable projects, environmental monitoring systems or educational applications. The values are expressed in arbitrary units, and the interpretation is done by calibration and conversion depending on the usage scenario and the chosen algorithm.
Specifications:
Supply voltage: 3V – 5V DC
Output signal voltage: 0 – 1V DC
Accuracy: ±1 UV index
Operating current: 0.06 mA standard, 0.1 mA max
Wavelength range: 200 – 370 nm
Working temperature: -20 ~ +85°C
Dimensions: 28×13×10 mm
Use:
Connect the module to a 3V-5V power supply and to an analog input of the microcontroller or development board.
Read the analog value and convert the measured voltage according to the ADC reference used.
Apply an offset correction if necessary and convert the result to an estimated UV index using a conversion factor, then adjust by calibration for your application.
For stability, take multiple readings and use an average, especially in environments with rapid light variations.
Arduino test code:
const int UVpin = A0;
const float offset = 0.01;
const float factor = 6.12;
void setup() {
Serial.begin(9600);
delay(2000);
}
void loop() {
int raw = analogRead(UVpin);
float sensorv = raw * (5.0 / 1023.0);
float uvv = sensorv - offset;
if (uvv < 0) uvv = 0;
float index = uvv * factor;
Serial.println(index);
delay(1000);
}
