## Description

Compact siren for alarm and burglary systems, provides a loud sound warning, audible from a distance, operates at 6-15VDC and offers a level of up to 120dB. Model QSI-4840, emits at 2.8 ± 0.5kHz for a clear signal, consumption 750 mA at 12VDC, dimensions 39 x 47 x 23 mm for easy integration.
The QSI-4840 siren module is an active piezoelectric sounder, intended for alarm systems, with a powerful 120 dB sound that can be clearly heard from a distance. It is suitable for burglar alarm systems, car alarms, safes, metal boxes, and other applications where an audible warning must overcome ambient noise.
The siren operates on DC voltages between 6 and 15 VDC, with a nominal voltage of 12 VDC. The sound frequency is 2.8 ± 0.5 kHz, and the current consumption is 750 mA at 12 VDC. As an active sounder, the drive circuit is included, so the siren emits sound as long as it is powered, without an external frequency signal.
Among the main features are the black plastic housing with a circular sound grille, the two mounting holes in the corners, and the two connecting wires, red and black. Power is supplied directly from a 6 - 15 VDC DC source through the two wires.

Use:
Fix the siren in the desired location with two screws passed through the holes in the corners of the housing, with the grille facing the area where the sound needs to be heard.
Connect the red wire to the positive pole of the power supply and the black wire to ground (GND), observing polarity.
Power the siren with a 6 - 15 VDC supply, preferably 12 VDC, and do not exceed 15 VDC.
Use a supply that can provide at least 750 mA at 12 VDC, since the siren has a high current draw.
For control from an alarm system or a development board, do not power the siren directly from an output pin; instead, drive it through a relay or a transistor suitable for the required current, with a common ground.
The siren emits sound continuously as long as it is powered, and it stops when power is interrupted.
Avoid testing the siren close to your ear and use hearing protection during tests, as the sound level is high.
Install the siren in dry spaces, at a temperature between -20 °C and +60 °C.
