## Description

Panel rocker switch with momentary action and automatic return to the center position, ideal for temporary controls in electronic projects and industrial applications. It has 3 positions MOM-OFF-MOM, flat surface for safe operation, 3 pins for quick connection, supporting up to 250V and 6A, in a compact 15 x 21 mm housing, black color.
The KCD1-123 rocker switch is a momentary panel switch with three positions that automatically returns to the center position after the actuator is released. The switch is of the flat type, with a flat actuation surface, and is suitable for temporary controls such as briefly turning a circuit on or off, controlling the direction of rotation of a motor, or alternately selecting between two circuits. It is used in control panels, household appliances, automotive and marine equipment, toys, laboratory equipment, and DIY electronics projects.
The switch has an SPDT configuration with (ON)-OFF-(ON) operation. The center terminal is common, and the two side terminals are working contacts, each active only while the actuator is held pressed to that side. In the center position the circuit remains open. The contacts are rated for 6 A at 250 VAC and 10 A at 125 VAC, and the body is panel-mounted in a rectangular cutout of approximately 21 x 15 mm.
Among the main features are the black self-returning actuator, the black housing with panel mounting clips, three solder tab terminals or 4.8 mm spade connectors, and the compact 15 x 21 mm dimensions. The switch has no own power supply, since it operates directly in the circuit it controls.
Thanks to the panel mounting and standard terminals, the switch directly replaces other switches from the KCD1 family with the same cutout dimensions and three terminals.

Function
Actuator
Black actuation surface with markings on both sides. It is pressed to one side or the other and returns by itself to the center position after release.
Housing frame
The edge that rests on the front of the panel and covers the cutout.
Mounting clips
The side clips that lock the switch into the panel cutout.
Terminals
Three metal tabs for soldering wires or for 4.8 mm spade connectors.

Function
Center terminal
1
Common contact (input of the controlled circuit).
Side terminal
1a
Working contact, connected to common only while the actuator is pressed on one side.
Side terminal
1b
Working contact, connected to common only while the actuator is pressed on the other side.

Center (rest)
All contacts are open.
Pressed to one side (momentary)
The common terminal is connected to one of the side terminals.
Pressed to the other side (momentary)
The common terminal is connected to the other side terminal.
Use:
Make a rectangular cutout of approximately 21 x 15 mm in the panel and insert the switch until the side clips lock in place.
Connect the load or controlled source to the center terminal, and the two alternate circuits to the side terminals.
Check with a multimeter in continuity mode which side terminal connects to common in each position, because the markings on the actuator differ from one variant to another.
For controlling the direction of a DC motor, use a circuit with a relay or an H-bridge controlled by the switch, since the single-pole switch does not reverse polarity by itself.
Do not exceed 6 A at 250 VAC or 10 A at 125 VAC, and for good service life use the switch at no more than half of the maximum ratings.
For inductive or DC loads such as motors, electromagnets, and coils, use a current lower than the rated current and a spark suppression circuit, such as a diode or an RC network.
If you are working with 220 VAC mains voltage, make all connections only with the circuit disconnected from the mains, by a qualified person, and insulate the terminals after soldering.
Secure the wires with clean solder joints or with 4.8 mm spade connectors, and avoid pulling on the terminals.
