## Description

Upgrade from classic SG90 and MG90S, with aluminum gears for light weight and strength, suitable for robots, mini arms and RC mechanisms. Offers precise control with internal potentiometer, 0-180 degree rotation, torque up to 2.2 kg/cm at 6V and fast speed up to 0.08 s at 60 degrees, 4.8-6V.
The MG90S servomotor with aluminum gears represents a significant upgrade over the classic SG90 and standard MG90S variants. The main improvement lies in replacing the traditional gears with aluminum ones, which reduces the overall weight of the assembly while also providing superior durability in applications that require repeated movements or moderate loads. With a weight of only 12.6g and compact dimensions of 22.8 x 12.2 x 28.5mm, this servomotor is ideal for robotics projects, RC aeronautics, 3D printers, and any application where the weight-performance ratio matters.
The servomotor is equipped with a precision internal potentiometer, ensuring accurate position control over a rotation range of 0 - 180 degrees. This version does not have a mechanical end-stop limiter, which allows the shaft to rotate freely when the servomotor is not powered. It offers a stall torque of 1.8kg/cm at 4.8V and 2.2kg/cm at 6V, with an operating speed of 0.1 sec/60 degrees at 4.8V and 0.08 sec/60 degrees at 6V. The accepted supply voltage is between 4.8V and 6.0VDC. It is fully compatible with Arduino, STM32, ESP32 platforms and any microcontroller capable of generating a PWM signal.
Specifications:
Supply voltage: 4.8 - 6.0VDC
Weight: 12.6g
Dimensions: 22.8 x 12.2 x 28.5mm
Stall torque: 1.8kg/cm (4.8V) / 2.2kg/cm (6V)
Operating speed: 0.1 sec/60 degrees (4.8V) / 0.08 sec/60 degrees (6V)
Rotation range: 0 - 180 degrees
Mechanical end-stop limiter: No
Signal type: PWM
PWM pulse width: 400 - 2600 microseconds
Instructions:
Connect the brown wire to GND, the red wire to the 4.8 - 6.0VDC power supply, and the orange wire to the microcontroller PWM pin.
If necessary, manually position the shaft in the desired position before powering on, since it rotates freely without power.
After powering on, the servomotor will maintain the position commanded by the PWM signal.
If the servomotor does not reach 180 degrees with the default Arduino library, modify the Servo.h file from the path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Arduino\libraries\Servo\src\Servo.h
Replace the existing values with the following:
\#define MIN_PULSE_WIDTH 400 // the shortest pulse sent to a servo
\#define MAX_PULSE_WIDTH 2600 // the longest pulse sent to a servo
\#define DEFAULT_PULSE_WIDTH 1500 // default pulse width when servo is attached
\#define REFRESH_INTERVAL 20000 // minumim time to refresh servos in microseconds
Save the file and reload the sketch in Arduino IDE.
To test the extreme positions without a library, use the code from the test.
