The active capacitive balancing module for LiFePo4 batteries, designed to ensure uniform voltage distribution between lithium battery cells in a pack, eliminating the risk of imbalance. With a balancing current of up to 1.5A and a precision of 3mV, this module offers high efficiency and stability, with minimal energy consumption, being ideal for battery pack maintenance, DIY projects or uses within PACK packs.

The system uses high-frequency, low-resistance ceramic capacitors for long-term stability and reliability. The maximum current of 1.5A is reached when there is a pressure difference (tension in this case) between two adjacent batteries. as the voltages approach, the current decreases.

Unlike passive resistive balancing, which generates heat and has a lower efficiency, the active capacitive module offers low consumption and high precision, without generating the heat of a passive module.

The module is compatible with both classic Lithium (Ternar) batteries of 4.2V and with those on Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) of 3.6V per cell. The module only performs the energy transfer between adjacent cells until the balance between the cells is reached, regardless of the voltage (maximum 4.2V) or their type.

The module is protected against excessive discharge by its hibernation protection function, activated automatically when the voltage drops below 2.5V. In addition, the wiring rules must be respected: incorrect connection of the wire from 0V (totally negative) can lead to damage to the board. The use of the power cord is efficient when the length is as short as possible, recommending the included 30 cm cable.

To prevent damage to the module, it is recommended to keep it in a dry environment, at operating temperatures between 30-45°C. Each module is rigorously tested to guarantee a lifespan of between 3 and 5 years for the capacitors, being able to last even longer under normal use conditions.

The board has an LED that indicates the cell balancing operation, providing a clear visual indicator.

Use:

Connect the module starting from 0V (total negative) and continue according to the specified order until the last battery. Any error in connecting the wire can lead to the failure of the board.

The length of the supplied cable (22AWG) is sufficient. It is recommended that the length be as short as possible for better performance, considering the fact that longer lengths increase the resistance of the wire.

Make sure that the modules are connected correctly and that the voltage of each cell complies with the battery specifications.
